BIO

Dr. Ronald O. McCants is the Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Coast Supply Chain Leadership Coach, LLC. with global outreach on three continents, Asia, Africa, and North America. He is a guest instructor at Spring Hill College and former Adjunct Professor at Coastal Alabama Community College, Thomasville Campus. He was a guest professor at Wesleyan United Methodist Theology College in Nairobi, Kenya and Wesley College in Mwanza, Tanzania Africa.

McCants is a Certified Economics and Government Social Science professional educator with the Alabama State Department of Education. His professional career also entails Customer Service Manager in the United States Postal Service, Procurement Specialist at University of South Alabama, and Supply and Logistics Manager, United States Marine Corps. As a United States Army Chaplain and Ordained Elder, he also served as Senior Pastor in the United Methodist Church.

McCants has extensive education in management and leadership. After earning a Business Administration degree from Bishop State Community College and Business Organizational Management degree from the University of Mobile, he progressed to obtain a Master in Education degree in Social Science Economics and Government from Alabama State University, and a Master in Divinity degree majoring in Administration and Leadership from Gammon Theological Seminary at The Interdenominational Theological Center, Atlanta, Georgia. He has completed coursework towards the Doctorate of Philosophy degree at the University of South Alabama, and is the recipient of the Doctorate of Humane Letters, honoris causa, from Spring Hill College.

His writings and presentations include Global Citizenship: Economy and Equality; Servant Leadership; Principles of Leadership; Forecasting and Supply Chain Management; Education Casual Comparison Design; Technology and Operations; Business Resiliency; The Pentateuch, The Prophets, and The Gospels.

McCants currently serves on several boards and agencies, including: Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals; International Coaching Federation; Mobile Chamber of Commerce; Board of Directors Vice President, Mobile Area Black Chamber of Commerce; Christus Board of Advisors, Spring Hill College; Committee on Superintendency, United Methodist Church; 2nd Vice President, Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Mobile; and Kappa Delta Pi, International Academic Honor Society.

He is married to the former Gladys Lane and they have three children, Treva, Romando, and Kenya.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

McCants provided Supply Chain Management Consultant services with The TAGOS Group, LLC and helped establish the Marine Well Containment Center’s SURF Shore Base in Theodore, Alabama. This is a state-of-the-art distribution center. SAP inventory technology were used during the acquisition, transfer, and logistics of equipment, including over 2,000 parts and supplies in 108 Conex Containers from central and south Texas areas. These items value more than $10 billion dollars. SAP barcoding technology ensured accuracy in management of Subsea Umbilical, Risers and Flowlines (SURF) equipment and additional subsea equipment. The SURF shore base is a resource for rapid response to future oil spills in the Gulf of Mexico.

BUSINESS START-UP

McCants is the Co-Founder of Pro’s Enterprise Tax Accounting Firm. As a licensed public accountant and notary public, he performed federal, state, and local governmental tax reporting services for corporations and small businesses. The tax and accounting services varied from grocery sales, restaurants, social clubs, automobile mechanic service shops, and petroleum stations. His bookkeeping accounting services with Quicken and Workbook programs technology ensured accuracy in revenue, sales, and expenditures to generate data on finance statements. Thus, services rendered resulted in efficient business management and epic customer service.

CONFERENCE LEADER

McCants highlighted the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals Edge 2020 Conference as an expert panel member. This conference is usually attended by over 2,000 professionals from various countries around the world.

INTERNATIONAL OUTREACH

McCants is the Founder of Africa-USA Team. In this international outreach, he coach directors over groups of children with prevention and intervention strategies to give hope to children at-risk or homeless. In some cases, the kids are living on the streets. Several team mentors and advisors in the United States of America provide support. The groups are in Mombasa and Nairobi Kenya, and Tarime and Mwanza Tanzania. Both Kenya and Tanzania ministries are certified with Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) status. McCants has facilitated seminars, workshops, and taught classes to African leaders and students in the fields of education, business, and theology. Currently there are about 150 children receiving care through Africa-USA Team ongoing fundraising and philanthropy.
